About Me

Interests

To begin, I have many personal interests spanning from photography to computers... I’ve been building, customizing, and fixing computers since I was fourteen and was introduced to web design at the age of 19 while working with Myers University. My photography skills have been noted to be exceptionally good and well above average in my first photography class at Avon Lake High School and I was deemed to be the most talented photographer to ever pass through ALHS after my second course. I am also very passionate about videography and editing and had been a go-to person among many for videography consulting.

My other hobbies include billiards and skateboarding (although I've put on a few pounds recently). In fact I've been called "a natural" in the ways of pool and have said to possess the physical and mental faculty to surpass an average person's abilities nearly 5 to 1, which is very fun to say the least. I have won one tournament, have placed second two times, and third countless times at Big Daddy's... This doesn't say a lot, but I had been competing with players who started 20-30 years ago whereas I had only begun in 2007.

I am a very detail-oriented and intelligent person and I try very hard to perform at a level I may not really even be able to operate no matter what it is.

Bio

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 13th 1984 into a family consisting of my parents (Dan and Vickie) and my sister (Jessica). We lived in a house in Deer Valley until I was about three years old, and we then moved into a subdivision known as Belair in the suburb of Glendale. I attended Belair Elementary School where I developed interests in airplanes as well as the Sega Genesis. We lived in Phoenix for 12 years until we moved into a smaller city named Omaha, which is situated in a mid-western state called Nebraska. In Omaha I attended Kiewit Middle School and developed my interests in computers. After my first year at Millard North High School we then moved to my parents’ hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. We moved into a house in a suburb of Cleveland called Avon Lake, and I then attended Avon Lake High School until graduation.

After graduation in 2003 I continued living in Avon Lake for a couple of years longer mostly working for a private university downtown called Myers University until I decided I would move back to the Phoenix area to attend DeVry University. Financial issues ensued and I then moved back to Cleveland to attend Cleveland State University. I stayed with Cleveland State for three semesters until I decided to move with a friend to a small village in upstate New York called Millerton. After a few months in Millerton I moved back to the Cleveland area and began working for Chancellor University (formerly Myers University) up until I was laid off again.

What's Inside My Bag:

Accessories
Canon BG-E2N In my opinion having a vertical grip is essential to own. You do not have to twist your arms to get a portrait which can become uncomfortable and a bit rediculous looking. The best part of a battery grip is the battery life is doubly increased when you're using two batteries and because the 50D...
Canon EF-D Focusing Screen I bought this from B&H while I was in NYC because I noticed many of my photos were slightly unlevel. This small accessory is a huge improvement from the standard focusing screen that comes with the 50D and it boggles my mind that the 40D/50D did not come with it. This essential accessory runs...
Cameras
Canon EOS 50D In short this camera packs a lot of punch and bang for the buck. Since I am a very technical person I enjoy things with lots of dials and buttons and many different settings and boy can this confuse the masses. It also, however, has all the automatic shooting modes most novice photographers are...
Lighting
Gary Fong Half Cloud Lightsphere I've found this diffuser to be quite useful with wide-angle lenses as well as when a cealing or wall is not available for bounce. It does a lovely job of softening light by providing such a relatively large light source as well as spreading the light to illuminate other objects or people around the...
PROMASTER 7500EDF Digital Electronic Flash What I can say about this flash is for the money you can't beat it. It does just about everything you need in a flash. The downside is there is no high speed syncronization like you'd find in the Canon 580EX and there is no radio controlled slave function. Other than that it is plenty powerful for...
Lenses
Modified Canon EF 35-80 f/4-5.6 III I use this lens in combination with macro tubes. Ive broken the aperture assembly to hold the aperture at f/11@80mm.
Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD IF I replaced my 18-55 with this 17-50 f/2.8 and it was an excellent move. The Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD IF is a great alternative to the 17-55 f/2.8 by Canon because it is lighter, smaller, and just as sharp. The Canon does have a better autofocus, but the AF on this Tamron is quite...
Vivitar 7mm f/3.5 Series 1 Fisheye MF This was one of the least expensive fisheye lenses I could find that holds the capacity to produce great results... but because in photography the saying "you get what you pay for" truely lives there are a few drawbacks to this lens:       The first is that it is manual focus so it...
